Chili

- 3 cups dry pinto beans ( or a combination of black beans and pinto beans) 
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1lb. Hamburger 
- 1 onion
- 1 can of tomato sauce
- half a can of whole tomatoes cut up and drained
 
- ¼ Cup chili powder
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- Soak dry pinto beans in water overnight. Drain. 
- Place soaked beans in Crockpot, Cover with water.
 
- Add: 1 Bay leaf, 2 teaspoons salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Cook 8 hours on  low. 
- Cook 1lb. Hamburger until no longer pink. Skim off fat.  Add 1 large, chopped onion. Pour into beans.
- Add: 1  Can tomato, 1/2 Can of whole tomatoes, drained and cut up, ¼ Cup chili powder, 2 Tablespoons brown  sugar
- Cook until hot and thickened.
 
Be careful not to have to much water when you start adding the ingredients, or it will be to soupy!
